The role of Corporate Counsel will be to assist the Company’s General Counsel in developing and implementing legal advice and strategy and to advise the Company’s business units to minimize risk while facilitating the achievement of business goals.


Here is what a typical day might look like as Corporate Counsel:

  • Advise the company's business units regarding contract negotiations, disputes, and compliance
  • Coordinate with outside counsel including facilitating discovery
  • Communicate with counterparties parties in contract negotiations and disputes
  • Provide operational support to business units to implement legal advice and strategy
  • Review and advise the company regarding policies and policy compliance procedures
  • Perform legal research and draft company positions on legal issues
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Company's General Counsel 


You are probably a great fit for this role if this sounds like you: 

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
  • License in good standing to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • Ability to read and analyze complex legal documents
  • Ability to articulate effectively nuanced legal positions, both orally and in writing
  • Willingness and ability:  
    • to work in a fast-paced business environment where requirements change rapidly with business needs
    • to work both independently and cooperatively to achieve practical business goals
    • to respond positively and adapt to critical feedback 
    • to anticipate issues use good judgment in alerting appropriate persons
    • to take initiative and proactively advance projects to completion
  • Proficiency in using standard word processing and related computer applications, such as Word, Excel, Adobe, etc. 
  • Previous relevant work experience preferred by not a requirement
