Overview

The Financial and Business Analyst is a key position that will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and other key department executives to create, define, implement, evolve and report on DiscoverOrg’s key metrics and processes, ranging from leads and sales to renewals and customer success. Once metrics are in place, we’ll be looking for you to identify trends, drive monthly review meetings, and make recommendations on what we can do to improve and execute better going forward. You’ll also be responsible for sales commissions, including creating sales commission plans, implementing and managing a sales commission system, and calculating monthly commissions. Finally, you’ll play a key role in creating and updating our budgets and forecasts, analyzing company performance, and working on special projects from the CEO, CFO or the Board. This is a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, superb analytical skills, and the ability to team with others within the company.

Responsibilities

As a Financial / Business Analyst, your typical day will look like this:

 

  • Work with key department executives to enhance and refine dashboards for their team, including identifying key metrics and creating visual graphics to show trends and anomalies
  • Develop and run a regular cadence for reviewing the dashboards with each team, including deep dive reviewing, insights and recommendations
  • Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepare monthly commissions for sales, SDR, and Customer Success Managers
  • Participate in implementing the company’s new commission management system and manage the system going forward
  • Work directly with sales directors to identify problem areas and pain points within their organization, identifying stakeholders to solve and improve these pain points
  • Identify ways that we can increase our sales velocity through analysis and insight on the entire sales pipeline, from leads to close, including deep dives on process improvements for new customer sales, existing client sales, and former customer recapture sales
  • Work with the marketing, sales, renewal and other teams to improve and maintain data integrity in our core systems and to identity and start tracking data that will improve our decision making going forward
  • Collaborate with cross-functional organizations to identify and solve business problems
  • Proactively identify opportunities for change, process improvement, and system enhancements

Qualifications

You are probably a great fit for the role if this sounds like you:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or accounting
  • 1+ years of strong analytical experience in a financial planning, business analysis or sales operations preferred
  • Excel skills are essential; we would prefer an advanced skillset but will accept a working knowledge with a high aptitude for mastery
  • Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Superior communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization
  • Can-do attitude and ability to positively implement change
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent reporting skills with ability to not only gather the appropriate data, but also glean insight to improve the performance of the company’s operations
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Posses the ability to work independently to identify, analyze, and solve business problems while operating as part of a larger team
