Fast forward and we’re 500 employees, a 7-time Inc. 5000 winner, recently acquired our largest competitor to position us as the clear leader in our space, and doing around $125M in revenue. For us to continue to scale, we need a talented IT Specialist to join our internal IT Operations team.

    Reports to: Vice President, HR & Operations

    Responsibilities

    Here's what a typical day will look like as an IT Specialist:

    • Assist in the development of innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
    • Install and configure new IT equipment
    • Setup and troubleshoot computers
    • Provide support functions for level-one and level-two requests from staff; that include all technology related issues.
    • Participate in the deployment of new software and technology, upgrading systems as needed.
    • Maintain software and hardware inventory system
    • Resolve printer issues and perform printer maintenance
    • Relocate computers between floors
    • Test computers and ensure computer systems are functioning properly
    • Ability to work well and troubleshoot quickly in a fast paced, time critical environment
    • Perform occasional facilities and operational tasks and other duties as assigned
    • Work closely with departmental managers to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network
    • Monitor changing network technology and deliver a technology update to the executive team each quarter
    • Responsible for creating and administering disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
    • Determine the rationale and methods for upgrading company network software programs each time an update is released

    Qualifications

    You're likely a great fit for this role if you have:

    • 5+ years’ experience within an information technology role
    • Strong understanding of network architecture and client/server technology
    • Strong problem solving and communication skills required
    • 1 – 3+ years of experience in IT as a Help Desk or Call Center Support Technician
    • Experience troubleshooting issues with PC computers and Mac Computers
    • Working knowledge of VoIP environment
    • Working knowledge of LAN (Ethernet, TCP/IP) and routing protocols
    • Thorough understanding of current Microsoft OS and Office applications, e-mail systems, Calendars, browsers, and remote access, VPN configuration, client anti-virus protection, hard drive encryption and wireless networking
    • Ability to function effectively within a team oriented environment
    • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
    • Highly organized and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    • A team player and always looking to improve the department/company
    • A strong sense of urgency
    • A positive attitude
