    The Manager of Financial Information Systems is a key position that will work closely with the leaders of the Finance,  Accounting, and Sales Ops teams and other key department executives to build and manage the technology capabilities required for reporting, analyzing, and optimizing our business. This position will be expected to expand DiscoverOrg’s capabilities in the business intelligence space by connecting existing disparate systems, aggregating data from multiple sources, building databases that our analytical team can use to drive conclusions, advising on the purchase of new systems for commissions and/or financial planning and then managing those systems, and other such initiatives.  We’ll be looking for you to help us identify trends and make recommendations on what we can do to improve and execute better going forward. You’ll play a major role in refining our processes around data quality, reporting, sales commissions, M&A, and generating better insight into our current and future customer base.

    Reports to:   Vice President, Business Planning


    This position will be the point of contact for the Finance, HR, IT, and Learning and Support departments on projects related to BI and reporting.  This role will require concentration on the creation and maintenance of databases, data warehouses, reports, and the associated BI infrastructure designed to empower our internal teams with data.


    Here's what a typical day will look like as the Manager, Financial Information Systems:

    • Own data quality and integrity for all financial related data
    • Be the point person for managing, connecting, and optimizing our various financial systems such as NetSuite, Avalara, ADP, Salesforce, and Tableau
    • Manage large, complex data projects from start to finish
    • Aggregate and cleanse data so that it can be easily analyzed
    • Lead the implementation of the company’s new commission management system and manage the system going forward
    • Lead the implementation of the company’s new financial planning/budgeting system and manage the system going forward
    • Work directly with the business to identify commission problem areas and pain points within their organization, identifying stakeholders to solve and improve these pain points
    • Collaborate with business teams, senior executives, and other users to define and manage scope and project prioritizations
    • Work with the marketing, sales, renewal and other teams to improve and maintain data integrity in our core systems and to identity and start tracking data that will improve our decision making going forward
    • Collaborate with cross-functional organizations to identify and solve business problems
    • Proactively identify opportunities for change, process improvement, and system enhancements


    You're likely a great fit for this role if you have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience
    • A strong technical knowledge of data/financial systems (implementing, managing, optimizing) is required
    • 3+ years of strong analytical experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analysis type of role preferred. Someone with this experience and a knowledge of finance/accounting would be an outstanding candidate. 
    • Experience working with and combining data extracted from a variety of sources, including MySQL, Excel spreadsheets, text files, SalesForce, and other 3rd party APIs.
    • Salesforce experience is essential
    • Excel skills are required; we would prefer an advanced skill set but will accept a working knowledge with a high aptitude for mastery
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Superior communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization

    We’re looking for a super sharp, analytical, and business savvy person to join our team and help drive DiscoverOrg’s success. We are open to considering exceptional candidates with a few years of experience up to those that may be at a Director level in years of experience. Title and compensation will be commensurate with experience, and that this position does not have any direct reports at this time.
