    Responsibilities

    Here is what a typical day will look like as the Database Analyst:

    • Works as part of the BI & Analytics team to manage scheduled and ad hoc procedures from various sources, including MySQL, MSSQL, Snowflake and flat files.
    • Works with the Research teams to clean and load data into our production databases.
    • Responds to trouble tickets to troubleshoot and resolve data quality and reporting issues.
    • Offers strategic input to improve or automate the treatment of information by the Research department.
    • Meets with end users to discuss data needs and to gather technical and non-technical requirements.
    • Supports end users and teammates on SQL-related questions and issues.
    • Creates and maintains documentation for end users and other data analysts.
    • Finds opportunities to improve and optimize existing procedures and operational processes

    Qualifications

    You're likely a great fit for this opportunity if you have the following:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 1+ years of experience writing complex database queries and reports, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience writing SQL for data analysis, including collecting, assembling, cleansing and formatting data.
    • Experience developing and maintaining stored procedures, functions, and events.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with, and provide excellent customer service to, stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and collaborate with others to identify and implement solutions.
    • Available for on-call and/or after-hours support as needed

    Technologies/skills:

    • SQL, specifically MySQL, Postgres.
    • AWS familiarity, especially Aurora, and S3.
    • Advanced Excel, PowerQuery
    • One or more programming languages, such as Python a plus.
    • Familiarity with Spark/Spark SQL, Snowflake or DataBricks a plus.
    • Experience with Git/GitHub or other version control systems.
