    The Manager, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting will join our Finance and Accounting Team in Vancouver, WA (Portland, OR area). The role will be responsible for providing technical accounting guidance and interpretations to the finance organization and other constituents, determining accounting treatments for complex transactions, coordinating and interfacing with external financial statement auditors for audits and complex policy matters, identifying and implementing best practices in various accounting, treasury and finance functions and executing various project-based assignments. This position will be involved in analysis and memo preparation related to complex transactions, accounting policy research and implementation, and drafting of SEC-compliant financial statements and related filings.  This role will also be a key contributor in preparing for an IPO, developing an internal control structure, including identifying and implementing best practices and process improvements.

    This role reports to the VP of Accounting & Controller.

    Responsibilities

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with overseeing the Company’s global accounting policies, particularly complex and non-routine issues, to ensure ongoing compliance with US GAAP, including acquisition accounting, debt and equity accounting, fair value accounting, and revenue recognition.
    • Prepare technical memos and analysis to support complex transactions such as acquisitions, consolidations, revenue recognition, leases, and debt, among others.
    • Prepare and update policy documentation as needed.
    • Monitor and implement new accounting standards under US GAAP.
    • Draft financial statements and accompanying footnotes in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.  
    • Assist with other SEC and statutory financial statement filings.
    • Assist with quarterly lender reporting.
    • Assist with coordinating the Company’s external audits (and any quarterly or other interim reviews) for the company.
    • Assist and advise on the implementation of internal controls, including preparation of process narratives, risk and control matrices, gap analyses, control improvement recommendations, process flow documentation and coordination and training for stakeholders during internal control roll out.

    Qualifications

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master’s degree preferred
    • Active CPA license required
    • A minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience at a national public accounting firm.  SEC reporting experience required. Additional experience at a high-growth software technology company, strongly preferred.
    • Must have a comprehensive, technical knowledge of US GAAP and be able to monitor and research US GAAP changes to ensure the Company's ongoing compliance.
    • Specific knowledge of accounting for the software industry and SaaS revenue under ASC 606 desired.  Current knowledge of debt, equity, stock compensation, business combinations, and consolidations desired.
    • Experience implementing and/or testing of internal controls
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Working knowledge of Netsuite and Wdesk a plus
    • Readiness to embrace and successfully drive/implement change, with the ability to solve problems, apply practical solutions and navigate through ambiguity
    • Team player; detail oriented; comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and ability to be flexible and collaborate with the team on different projects and needs.
